I offer Modified Ashtanga, Vinyasa flow and restorative yoga to students of all ages focussing on the importance of Pranayama - breath, Asana – physical posture, Bandhas – energy locks and Dristi – gaze. I recognise that students who come to yoga will not all having the same level of understanding of it or the same mental or physical strength, so I focus on creating an inclusive experience where they can create their own journey and develop their practice.
Yoga for me is a practice that incorporates the physical, mental, spiritual and meditative. It’s a practice that you action not only on your yoga mat in class but also in your normal, daily life. It’s not something that you just do and then don’t develop – it’s a journey that you are taking, not focussed on the end destination but where it is taking you. I came to yoga over six years ago having been a keen runner and having suffered a bad back and knee issues. To explain what yoga has given me from its practice and study is difficult to explain in words but I just know that I want to keep on this journey.
With the Covid-19 lockdown I am teaching private clients by video conferencing. Pre-Covid 19 I was teaching clients one-to-one in the comfort of their homes and was also a cover teacher at Virgin Active Health Clubs.
